    Relevant updates for aspirants of SBI PO 2019



    The recruitment drive of SBI Probationary Officer (PO) is considered to be most sought opportunity for every aspirant who dreams big of becoming a successful banker. Every year, SBI conducts this recruitment drive for selecting deserving candidates across all its branches in India. It is estimated that around 2000 vacancies are announced for the post of Probationary Officer which are also referred to as Management Trainees. The official notification from SBI is yet to be released but it is assumed that the number of vacancies will be around two thousand plus. As every year, the number of aspirants increases and therefore the competitiveness and subsequently cutoff also increases in this highly spirited competitive exam.

    SBI PO Selection Process and Exam Pattern

    SBI PO exam is conducted in a three tier selection process where every candidate has to get through each stage to reach to the next level. The three stages of selection process are:-
    Stage I: SBI PO Prelims
    Stage II: SBI PO Mains
    Stage III: Personal Interview
    The Prelims and Mains exams are conducted online in the form of objective type question paper while the interview round is conducted face to face.

    SBI PO Prelims Exam Pattern

    SBI PO Prelims exam will be an objective type test which will be of one hour duration. The three sections are separately timed where 20 minutes will be allotted to each section. This exam will have 3 sections – English Language (30 questions, 30 marks), Numerical Ability (35 questions, 35 marks) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions, 35 marks). It implies that this test will have 100 questions where each question will be of 1 mark and the total marks will be 100.  The exam will also have negative marking where 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. To reach SBI Mains exam, the aspirant will have to clear the sectional as well as overall cutoff marks in Prelims exam through BANK COACHING KARIMNAGAR.

    SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern

    SBI PO Mains exam will comprise of two Sections - Objective and Descriptive. The objective section will have objective type questions and will be of 200 marks.

    The sections of this exam are- Reasoning and Computer Aptitude (45 questions, 60 marks, duration- 60 minutes or 1 hour), Data Analysis and Interpretation (35 questions, 60 marks, duration-45 minutes), Banking/General/Economy Awareness (40 questions, 40 marks, duration-35 minutes), English Language (35 questions, 40 marks, duration-40 minutes).

    This objective test will be of 3 hours (180 minutes) duration and will carry 200 marks where 155 questions will be asked. The second part of SBI Mains exam (descriptive exam) will take place after the completion of the objective test on the same day. The descriptive test of SBI PO Mains exam will carry 50 marks and will be of 30 minutes duration. The section will test the English writing skills of the candidates and will have two sections- Letter Writing and Essay.

     Personal Interview Round

    The candidates who have successfully cleared the SBI PO Mains exam will be called for the Personal Interview Round. For this selection stage, the total marks are 100 and the minimum qualifying marks for General Category is 40% and 35% for SC/ST/PWD candidates. 

    Final Selection

    The final merit list will be based on the total marks scored by the candidates in SBI PO Mains exam and the Personal Interview Round. In the final score counting, the SBI PO Mains will contribute 80% while Personal Interview round will contribute 20% of the marks scored by the selected candidates and get effective BANK EXAM STUDY MATERIAL.  

    SBI PO Result

    For each stage, the result will be declared separately on the official website of SBI. The candidate can log in using their registration number and date of birth to check their result on the official website.
