    Details Regarding RBI Grade B Exam



    RBI Grade B exam is a competitive test of national level. It is annually conducted by the Reserve Bank of India Services Board. It is through this competitive examination, RBI (Reserve Bank of India) recruits personnel across different levels to handle various operations within the organization. For the year 2019, RBI Grade B Examination 2019 is a recruitment drive which is done to select candidates for the posts of Officers in Grade ‘B’ (General) - DR, DEPR and DSIM in Common Seniority Group (CSG) Streams.

    This competitive examination is tentatively scheduled for the month of June 2019. This recruitment drive is split into three major phases and they are Prelims, Mains and Interview Round. The successful candidate from each stage will qualify for the next stage. As per the posts, RBI Grade B Exam will be conducted in both online and offline mode. RBI Grade B Exam 2019 Eligibility Before applying online, candidates should meet the eligibility guidelines issued by RBI.

    To appear for RBI Grade B Examination 2019, candidate has to be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who is permanently established in India earlier to January 1, 1962, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the objective of residing undyingly in India. Apart from Indian citizens, the other candidates should also possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

    Likewise, there are guidelines for the age factor also. For this competitive exam, the minimum age limit for candidates to apply is 21 years while the upper age limit is 30 years as on May 1, 2019. The upper age limit for candidates possessing M.Phil and Ph.D qualifications will be 32 and 34 years respectively. As per Government of India norms, the candidates who fall under reserved category are eligible for relaxation.

    Educational Qualifications for various posts Now, for applying for various posts, let us discuss the educational qualifications prescribed by the Board for the RBI Grade B Examination 2019.

    Post Minimum Educational Qualifications (as on 01-05-2017)
    1. Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - (General) The candidate should have scored at least 60% marks in aggregate for all semester/years (50% for SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equal) and 10th Standard examinations from recognized University and Boards respectively.

    2. Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) – DEPR The candidate should have a Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade. SC/ST/PWD candidates are allowed a relaxation of 5%

    3. Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DSIM The candidate should essentially possess a Master's Degree in Statistics/Mathematical Economics/ Mathematical Statistics/Statistics & Informatics/Econometrics from IIT-Kharagpur or Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with at least 55% marks in aggregate of all semester/years or an equivalent grade; or the candidate should have aMaster's Degree in Mathematics with at least 55% marks in aggregate of all semester/years and 1-year PG Diploma in Statistics or related subjects from reputed institute; or the candidate should have a M. Stat. from Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years or the candidate should have a PG Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with at least 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years or equivalent grade.

    The candidates from General Category who have appeared six times for Phase-I exam of this post in the past will not be considered to apply again. There will be no such restrictions for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates, if the applied posts are reserved for them.
